According to centercinemapress ,quoted by Screen Daily, the lineup of the 80th Venice International Film Festival, which will be held from August 30 to September 9 (September 8 to 18), was announced by the head of the festival, Roberto Cicotto, and its artistic director, Alberto Barbera

While Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” was supposed to open the festival this year, it was canceled due to the actors’ strike by the production company MGM, and Eduardo De Angelis’ “Commander” was replaced by the festival.

The final film of this year is “Snow Society” by Jay Bayona in Spanish and produced by Netflix.

This year, Damian Chazelle is the head of the competition’s jury, and Jane Campion, Mia Hansen-Lowe, Laura Poitras, Martin McDonough, Saleh Bakri, Gabriele Mainti, Santiago Mitre, and Xu Qi are members of the judging panel.
