Trust online The Cannes Film Festival has announced the list of films for the 2020 event. The list includes new titles from Wes Anderson, Steve McQueen, Pixar, Francois Ozon, Naomi Kawas and Thomas Winderberg.
Wes Anderson, Steve McQueen and Kate Winslet are among the big names in films that Cannes plans to include later in its annual schedule at other festivals.
After the physical event of the festival was postponed, Cannes published the list of selected films.
Despite the cancellation of the Cannes Film Festival due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the event announced its 56 selected films in the official selection section as a mark of honor for these films and in an effort to strengthen their credibility in the distribution sector.
Statistics were also presented yesterday about the number of female filmmakers and their debut films. According to these statistics, 2067 films were sent to the Cannes Film Festival, of which 909 were first film titles. Also, 258 cases of the first films were female (28.4 percent) and 651 cases (71.6 percent) were male.
This year, the Cannes Film Festival did not announce the films in different sections and instead announced all 56 works in one common list.
